Donation of Time and Services
We have a whole list of people to thank who have donated their valuable time and services to our organization:
- Our volunteer teachers from the University of Ottawa Community Service Learning course: Melissa Bourgault, David Dumais, Brockenshire Leminski, Mikko Mason, Andrea McLaughlin, Chris Nikkel, Mark Wilkinson.
- Our volunteer student mentors: Joel Alison, Seth Alison, Stephi Bell, Anna Ernst, Rebecca Grey, Lei Huang, Coralyn Johnston, Ruza McIntyre, Jonah Poplove, Christina Zhang, Nova Zhao.
- Our adult volunteers who help to organize the Tuesday and Thursday classes: Maeve McMahon, Marthe Nabatian, Barbara Riley.
- Guy Harrison, highly-respected instrument maker & luthier, for providing free on-going evaluations for donated instruments (for tax receipt purposes).
- The instrument makers who volunteered their time to help us set up and repair violins in September 2008: Dominic Zuchowicz, Peter Mach, Bernard Walke and Charline Dequincey & Olivia Walsh-Pelling (from Guy Harrison's shop).
- Nancy and Barry Craven for organizing and keeping track of our many donated and purchased instruments.
- Jill Laforty (CBC), Denise Fung (CBC), Steven Mazey (Ottawa Citizen) and Elizabeth Payne (Ottawa Citizen) for invaluable media coverage.
- Margaret Munro Tobolowska for donating proceeds from the sale of 100 CD’s ‘A Cello for Chelsea’ and ‘Zara the Maggini’.
- Ian Warren, barrister and solicitor, for providing pro bono legal services to help us get the Foundation started.
- Paula Koundakjian for her many hours of helping to edit and write grants.
- Jo Kressin from inconceptsdesign for donating his time to both design the new look for our website and to provide us with the corresponding content management system.

- For the first several months of our programs, the teachers volunteered their time, knowledge and passion for music: Susan Rupp, Jean Barsalou and Paul Casey – violin, Margaret Tobolowska, Anne-Marie Guedon – cello, Karen Donnelly – trumpet, Jonanthan Sandler – guitar and Tina Fedeski – flute.
- The Leading Note music store for donating the print music and books to be used for the first year of the program, profits from sale of the DVD "Tocar y Luchar" and 10% of the buskers' proceeds from the "Busking at The Leading Note" program.
