Organization

The Leading Note Foundation was established in September 2007 with the goal of of giving children from under-served communities the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and sing in a choir.  The Foundation was initially set up as a not-for-profit organization and then received its status as a charitable organization in January 2008.

A board of impressive individuals from the Ottawa area was put together over the first few months of 2008, with the first official board meeting taking place in June 2008.  The board has continued to evolve since then.  Please visit our Board page for a list of our board members and their biographies.

The development and operation of our OrKidstra and KidSingers programs has required the cooperation from a number of different organizations in the Ottawa community.  The Partnerships page documents these relationships.

And, of course, the ultimate success of the OrKidstra and KidSingers programs depends on having the right teachers.  The Teachers page lists the teachers for each of our courses, along with the University of Ottawa students and student mentors who help them out.

Please check out the Our Story page for an on-going history of the OrKidstra and KidSingers programs.
